Stencil Systems Comparison
Stencil Systems Comparison:

Stencil Type  System features

Diazo-Photopolymer emulsions

aka: "dual-cure" emulsion

  • Resistant to solvents, water or BOTH
  • Highest resolution, mesh bridging and edge definition of direct emulsion systems
  • Widest exposure latitude
  • Not affected by humidity
  • Excellent chemical and mechanical resistance
  • Requires sensitizing with Diazo
  • Best system for application specific development

SBQ-Photopolymer emulsion

aka: "Pure Photopolymer", "One-Pot", "Pre-sensitized" emulsion

  • Resistant to solvents, water or BOTH
  • Fastest exposure speed
  • Very good resolution, mesh bridging and edge definition
  • Narrow exposure latitude
  • Not affected by humidity
  • Very good chemical and mechanical resistance
  • Pre-sensitized - ready to use
  • Best system for digital direct exposure and direct projection systems
Diazo emulsion
  • Resistant to EITHER solvents or water
  • Good resolution, mesh bridging and edge definition
  • Good exposure latitude
  • Affected by humidity
  • Very good chemical and mechanical resistance
  • Very easy to reclaim (solvent resistant types)
  • Requires sensitizing with Diazo
Capillary films
  • Resistant to solvents, water or BOTH
  • Fastest application speed
  • Very good resolution
  • Exellent mesh bridging and edge definition
  • Excellent Rz-values at low emulsion over mesh thickness
  • Very good exposure latitude
  • Very good chemical and mechanical resistance
  • Pre-sensitized - ready to use
